This area will provide you with information about your computer. Many people have asked me “What kind of computer should I buy?” or “Will this work on my computer?” or possibly no one has ever explained to you the different parts of, or options for, a computer. For those of you with these questions I have written these following information sheets. Please select the Computer Basics option on the left.

After you have read the “Computer Basics 1” information then you are ready to build on your knowledge! Learn about Printers, webcams, game controllers and more by reading the information under the “Computer Basics 2” section.
“Hardware”, “Software”explained:
“Hardware” are things that you can physically touch such as the mouse or a hard drive.
“Software” are the written instructions which tell the computer how to use the hardware.
You can obtain free software such as games, utilities, and much more by checking out our Freeware listing (See “Computer Basics 3” on the left).
Unable to View Computer Basics?

Can I use this Training in a Corporate Environment?
This training was specifically designed for individual learning and not for classroom teaching. This training was not designed for use in a Corporate environment since some of the information may not apply to an Enterprise connected computer. With that said, if you wish to use this training in a corporate or enterprise environment you may do so as long as the documents are unmodified. You must use my original PDF documents which include the ScottFam.us link or logo.
